Corporate volunteering at Botanic Gardens of Sydney offers more than a day outdoors. It’s an opportunity for teams to work alongside our horticultural experts, contribute to the care of some of Australia’s most significant living collections, and gain a deeper understanding of the science and stewardship behind the Gardens.

Whether you’re strengthening team connection, supporting employee wellbeing or delivering meaningful sustainability and community initiatives, every volunteering day contributes to the ongoing care of these remarkable spaces. From learning about plants and Sydney's unique landscapes, to employing gardening basics such as mulching, weeding, composting, and planting techniques, corporate volunteering is a truly one-of-a-kind team building experience as you reconnect with nature at the Garden.

Each session is designed to be practical, engaging and accessible for groups. The corporate volunteering fee is a tax deductible donation.

Botanic Gardens of Sydney is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the support of its generous donors and corporate partners. The funds raised through the program are invested in our scientific research, conservation and education programs at the Gardens. Many organisations begin with a volunteering day and go on to build longer-term partnerships across conservation, education, employee engagement and community connection.

This is hands-on, purposeful work with a lasting impact.

Volunteering at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney

Located in the heart of the city, this experience offers a unique opportunity to step into a tranquil environment just moments from the CBD at the oldest Botanic Garden and living scientific institution in Australia. Your team will support our friendly Horticulture team to care for our rare and exotic plants within a globally significant living collection, with the stunning backdrop of the Sydney Harbour. Participation in this program and your donation fee will help to ensure our Gardens remain open for all to enjoy.

When: Tuesday to Thursday from March - October
Time: 9.00am – 12.00pm

Volunteering at Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan

Just one hour from the CBD, the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan's rolling hills, lakes, lawns, ornamental gardens and natural woodlands are home to 4,000 species of native plants. Not only is it the largest botanic garden in Australia, it is also home to world-leading plant science facilities; The National Herbarium of NSW and Australian PlantBank. Here, your team can contribute to native planting and large-scale landscape restoration through our seasonal tree planting program. Please note there is limited availability for these sessions, and bookings do fill up quickly.

Group volunteering costs

Our volunteer program fees are based on group size, and are a tax-deductible donation.

Payment terms and conditions:

Payment for bookings must be made at least two weeks prior to your volunteer session. The volunteering program is a tax-deductible donation, and funds are directed to the area of greatest need at Botanic Gardens of Sydney. All donations are non-refundable.
