Explore the Cadi Jam Ora Garden and learn about cultural practices and knowledge that have protected species for generations. In this guided walk, led by a First Nations educator, students will tour the garden to explore different natural resources used by Aboriginal people of the Sydney region.

Examine a range of plants from local environments, observe the adaptations that allow them to grow and survive. In research teams, conduct scientific fieldwork, fine tune observational skills and record features of plants.

There are lots of ways to tackle climate change and create nature-filled, clean and wonderful places. Come join this hands-on, playful session to get your ideas sparking. Led by a Museum First Nations educator, students will learn about native plants from around New South Wales and other parts of Australia, the uses of these plants and the cultural significance they have to First Nations Peoples. Students will learn about different weaving techniques used to make baskets, nets and carriers, and will engage in hands on activities and games that introduce the skill and complex knowledge of this traditional practice. Students will take home the woven bracelet they make during the session
