We offer fun and creative outdoor experiences with lots of challenges and community connections.

Excursions to any of our gardens provide on country experiences that can't be replicated in the most spectacular green spaces in Sydney.

Our programs use holistic approaches to play and learning that will complement your programming in First Nations perspectives, sustainability, nature connection and wellbeing.

Garden Safari

Search for our garden's other inhabitants on Safari. 

Many animals call the Botanic Garden home. Come on a Garden Safari, searching for animals and telling stories about the birds, bugs, and maybe even some scaly and furry friends that we find on our journey.  We’ll get creative with natural materials found in the garden to make an animal habitat, and investigate the evidence animals leave behind, and how it can help the plants. Bring your best wildlife stories to share and come on Safari in the Gardens.

Garden Adventure

The gardens is a place of discovery, creativity and adventure. 

Be challenged to build a shelter from sticks and leaves, discover secret spaces to collect gardens treasures and bring home a clay coolamon filled with treasures and seeds ready to plant in your garden.

Food Garden Fun

Discover some simple and sustainable ways you can grow and make your own food.

We’ll start some microgreens mini gardens in recycled containers, forage for tea ingredients in our children's garden with our First Nations educators and make your own clay pinch pot to take home. This program will give you lots of ideas to start growing your own food at home or back at your centres.

Step into the past and explore the wonders of nature through time in the Time Travellers Garden! 

Designed for curious young minds, this hands-on adventure invites children to discover ancient plants, prehistoric animals and fascinating fossils – all within the magical setting of a garden.

Gardens Waste Warriors

Combining children's creativity with sustainability in a fun and impactful program!

Try out some creative construction with natural and reuse materials from excess garden resources. Learn how reuse materials, gardening and propagation go hand in hand, and create First Nations inspired art or jewellery using natural materials. You will go home inspired waste warriors and garden gurus.
