Sydney Science Trail Terms and Conditions

The submission of a booking request is a formal request for a Sydney Science Trial education booking with the Botanic Gardens of Sydney and the Australian Museum for the date/s specified.

Teachers can book places for students through the Botanic Gardens of Sydney website until sold out.

The receiving of a booking confirmation document by email from the Botanic Gardens of Sydney constitutes an agreement that your excursion is booked and confirmed and subject to our cancellation policy.

Invoices based on final numbers will be issued once final numbers have been confirmed (four weeks from the booking date). Any bookings received after 24 June will be invoiced immediately and require payment within 7 days.

Payment options will be included on the invoice, including credit card options. American Express, cash and cheque payments are not accepted under any circumstances.

Once issued, invoices are final with payment terms of 14 days (unless bookings are made after 24 June 2026, where payment terms are 7 days).

Tickets for the Diverse Learner Program can only be booked online and must be paid at the time of booking. Changes to these bookings can be made up to COB 1 July 2026 by contacting [email protected].

Botanic Gardens of Sydney and the Australian Museum reserve the right to cancel or modify any event in case of extreme weather or changes to New South Wales Government public health advice. In this instance, participants will be notified by email as soon as practicable.

 a. Wet weather

All booked programs will go ahead in wet weather, unless it is an extreme weather condition. Schools will be notified if an extreme weather condition will prevent the excursion from going ahead.

b. School bookings

After your booking has been confirmed, final numbers are due within four weeks or by 24 June 2026 (whichever comes first). Once attendee numbers are provided, an invoice will be issued. If you need to cancel or make changes to your numbers, notification must be made in writing to [email protected]. Please note that for changes to numbers after an invoice has been issued:

• An increase in numbers will be accommodated if possible but cannot be guaranteed. An invoice will be issued for the difference in numbers if applicable.
• There is no invoice adjustment for a decrease in attendee numbers.

No shows on the day will not be refunded.

c. Diverse Learners Sessions

If you need to cancel or make changes to your numbers, notification must be made in writing to [email protected].

Changes or cancellations can be made up until 1 July 2026. After this date, bookings are not refundable.
