Eligibility requirementsThe competition is open to residents of Australia. Not be a current or former employee of Botanic Gardens of Sydney (BGS), or their immediate family members, or any person associated with the running of this Competition (‘Immediate family member’ means any of the following: spouse, de-facto partner, child, step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent or step-parent); and be an individual, not a company or organisation.

How to enterComplete the Plant Passport and competition registration form and hand it over to a Sydney Science Trail staff member at the Community Day event to enter the competition. Completion of this form will be deemed as acceptance of competition terms and conditions.

Prize description and valueEntrants who submit a Valid Entry during the Competition Period will have a chance to win one prize (Prize). The Prize consists of eight passes for eligible children's school holiday programs conducted by Botanic Gardens of Sydney, with a total value of up to $200. The passes may be redeemed at any Botanic Gardens of Sydney site, including the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mount Tomah. A maximum of two passes may be redeemed during any one school holiday period. 
Details of the prize drawThe Winner will be selected in a random draw a 3pm AEST on 25 August 2026, at Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan under the supervision of event organisers. The Winner is not required to be present at the prize draw to be eligible to win the prize.
Winner notification and/or announcement The Winner will be notified by phone and email, following the prize draw on 25 August 2026.
Unclaimed prize drawThe prize will be forfeited, and an alternative Winner selected, if the Winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, or fails to claim the prize within 48 hours of the draw.
Prize expiry detailsThe prize is valid and redeemable from 1 September 2026, to 31 July 2027 only. 
Manner of resolving disputesAny disputes arising in connection with the competition, including but not limited to eligibility, entry validity, or prize allocation, will be reviewed and resolved by the Botanic Gardens of Sydney. The decision of the organisers will be final and binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

Eligibility: The giveaway is open to residents of Australia who are aged 18 years or over. All entrants must attend Community Day on the day to enter. Entry can be made at the Information Desk. Employees of the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

Agreement to Rules: By participating, the Entrant agrees to be fully, unconditionally bound by these rules and represents and warrants that they meet the eligibility requirements.

Competition Period: Entries will be accepted at the Community Day event on 22 August 2026, 10am until 3pm AEDT.

Duplicate entries for the same child will be disqualified.

Rights Granted by You: By entering this competition, you agree that the Botanic Gardens of Sydney may use your name, image, and statements about the competition for promotional purposes in any media, without further compensation or approval, where permitted by law.

Terms and Conditions: Botanic Gardens of Sydney reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the competition should any unauthorized intervention, fraud, or other cause beyond its control affect the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the competition.
