Visit the incredible Summer Meadow

Visitors to the Meadow can immerse themselves in a world of colour and texture as they walk through a lush horticultural display flourishing on either side of the path.

What began as a blank canvas of lawn has evolved into a vibrant floral showcase that grows more spectacular each year. Seed is sown in early spring, with careful consideration given to previous years’ displays and the seed bank to ensure diversity and resilience. As seedlings begin to germinate and mature, the Meadow comes to life with an ever-changing tapestry of colour, form, and movement.

Beyond its visual beauty, the Meadow serves as an essential biodiverse ecosystem, supporting pollinators, native insects, birds, and other wildlife. Meadows are defined by their openness, low tree density, and rich diversity of plant species, distinguishing them from more traditional garden styles. While they occur naturally in the landscape, meadows can also be cultivated on a smaller scale in urban gardens and backyards, bringing valuable ecological benefits into everyday spaces.

Meadows are valuable for supporting biodiversity, providing habitat and food for pollinators, and delivering dynamic seasonal displays that change throughout the year.
