Waratah donors provide vital annual support for scientific research, plant conservation, ecological restoration, climate resilience and education across the three Botanic Gardens of Sydney.

What is the Waratah Program?

The Waratah Program is a philanthropic giving community designed for supporters who wish to deepen their impact on the Botanic Gardens of Sydney.

Waratahs help drive scientific research, protect threatened species, restore vital ecosystems and support education programs that inspire future generations.

It is one of our most important giving circles, bringing together donors who contribute $500+ annually to champion the Gardens’ science, conservation, and restoration efforts.

Why Your Support Matters

More than 40% of the Gardens’ annual funding comes from non-government sources. Waratah donors play a critical role in enabling work that government funding alone cannot achieve, supporting world-leading science, strengthening conservation efforts and safeguarding Australia’s unique flora.

Waratah Giving Levels

  • Bronze Waratah – $500 – $2,499
  • Silver Waratah – $2,500 – $4,999
  • Gold Waratah – $5,000 – $9,999
