Celebrate Christmas with Australia’s most loved stars at the 43rd Woolworths Carols in The Domain, Sydney. 

Each year, this iconic event brings together some of the country’s biggest names to celebrate the festive season. With all your favourite carols, fireworks, and even snow, it’s a night of pure Christmas magic.

Join the thousands who gather annually at The Domain for this long-standing Aussie tradition, with millions more joining in the festive spirit from home on  Channel 7 and 7plus.

Come early to enjoy festive, family-friendly pre-show entertainment, activities, activations, delicious food and drinks, and twilight magic as we count down to the start of the main show.

Enjoy the show with a touch of luxury in the Premier Reserved area with beach club-style seating for comfort and convenience, or opt for the reserved picnic lawn in TinselTown. Tickets available through Ticketbooth. Free general admission is also available at the Festive Lawn precinct where the Christmas spirit fills the air and everyone is welcome.

If you can’t attend in person, you can still catch the event on Channel 7 and 7plus (date TBC).

Which areas of The Domain / Garden are impacted by this event and when?

The event will occupy The Domain’s Phillip Precinct from Tuesday 16 December 2025 and return to the public on Tuesday 23 December 2025. 

I am not attending the event, will I still be able to access the Garden on the event day?

Yes, the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney will be open as normal. Access to pedestrian pathways will be maintained at all times.

What will the traffic and access impacts be?

We encourage patrons to use public transport to and from the event:

  • Train: exit via St James, Martin Place or Circular Quay
  • Ferry: walk to The Domain from Circular Quay
  • Bus: for timetables, maps and trip planning visit www.transportnsw.info

 

To facilitate easier patron access and parking in the vicinity please note the following traffic changes will occur:

  • Traffic delays: Traffic delays anticipated from 12 noon and on egress between 10pm-11.30pm on both Friday 19 December and Saturday 20 December.
  • Drop off zone: An event drop off zone will be operational on the corner of Hospital and Art Gallery Roads.
  • Friday 19 December commencing at 4pm to 8pm
  • Saturday 20 December commencing at 12pm to 11pm
  • Road Closures: Art Gallery Rd will be closed to inbound traffic from 8pm to 11.30pm on Saturday 20 December (vehicles are able to exit, except during main pedestrian egress periods). Wider CBD closures may be implemented from 9.30pm as per Police operations, please visit www.livetraffic.com.
  • Footpath Closures:  Access to pedestrian pathways will be maintained at all times.
  • Parking restrictions / parking availability: Limited metered parking is available on Mrs Macquaries Road and the Domain Carpark. For prices visit: www.domaincarpark.com.au.
  • Mobility Pass Holder access: No additional accessibility parking above what is usually available at The Domain. The drop off zone will be located on Hospital Road near the corner of Art Gallery Road. There is an accessible viewing area at event for people with limited mobility. Will The Terrace / Botanic House restaurant be open as usual?

Yes. 

Will the Garden Shop still be operating?

Yes. 

Will there be any sound impacts related to this event?

Sound checks and rehearsals will be carried out intermittently from:

  • Wednesday 17 December 5pm – 8pm (to be confirmed closer to event)
  • Thursday 18 December 4pm – 9:15pm (to be confirmed closer to event)
  • Friday 19 December 4pm – 11pm (to be confirmed closer to event) 

Event sound will be carried out intermittently from 12pm – 11pm on Saturday 20 December.

Fireworks displays will also take place throughout the event during this time.

We are committed to comply with all legislation and guidelines covering permissible sound levels at outdoor events. This includes pre-event sound checking, as well as event day monitoring and management of noise levels to adjust according to the prevailing weather conditions (e.g. wind strength and direction).
