An EOI for our inaugural Writers in Residence program went out in late 2025 and attracted a highly competitive field of applicants from across Australia. Cheryl Leavy and Jess Harwood have been selected for the pilot program and will undertake their residencies between May and July, 2026. 

Two writers will create new works inspired by the Gardens, with behind-the-scenes access to collections and world-leading science facilities during a three-month residency.
