Enjoy the spectacular display of paper daisies
Begin with guided tour of the Connections Garden to admire the stunning display of paper daisies and discover the best conditions for growing them successfully. Then join a hands-on workshop and learn how to care for, cultivate, and sow paper daisies in your own garden.
As part of the experience, you'll take home a potted paper daisy and seeds to plant next autumn, helping you create your own colourful display that will also attract pollinators such as bees and hover flies.
All plants are lovingly grown on site at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan by the Growing Friends volunteer group.
Recommended for ages 16+.

Within the Asteraceae family, there are multiple genera of paper daisies, including the most common Rhodanthe, Xerochrysum and Schoenia. A favourite horticultural plant over 200 years, they are prized for their papery bracts and long lasting displays of colour.
The Asteraceae family is a diverse group of plants found world wide. In Australia here are around 1000 native plants in this family. These plants are easily distinguished by their flower head, made up of two different types of flowers. Aster flower heads consist of a centre of miniature disc florets often surrounded by a ring of ray florets.
Asteraceae plants are an important part of the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan Living Collection. Collected from all over Australia, the garden cares for 51 different species on display 39% of which are from wild origin.
